Salesforce for sending automated emails #inSalesforce

Salesforce offers various products including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and marketing-specific products that allow for sending automated emails. These automated email capabilities are available in both Sales Cloud and Service Cloud. To trigger automated emails, Salesforce has a built-in automation tool called Flow.

When it comes to creating email alerts, there are two options: using a template or a simple email action. Using a template is recommended as it is easier to maintain and update without editing the flow. However, if you prefer using a simple email action, you will need to modify the flow to update its content.

In Salesforce Lightning, email templates can be created by navigating to the app launcher and selecting email templates. These templates can be used in email alerts triggered by a flow. There are sample templates available, like the 'Rose Apothecary Newsletter Template'.

To configure email settings and create an email alert, you can specify the recipient, sender, and related record details. These settings can be found in the setup menu, where you can search for and create email alerts.

For creating email actions, you have the option to choose either an intro newsletter or a simple email. The intro newsletter option allows you to give it a name and select a related record, but you cannot modify the content within this flow as it is managed in the email alert area and template area. On the other hand, the simple email option allows you to specify the body, subject, and other options.

In the simple email option, you can set multiple recipient email addresses by using a comma-separated list. You can also choose the sender type and the content type (rich text or plain text) of the email. Additionally, you have the flexibility to type the body of the email or create a new resource for the message.

It's important to note that there are limitations when it comes to sending emails from Salesforce, such as a daily limit of 5,000.
