Create Feed-Based Page Layout
Pre-requisite: Feed tracking enabled for the object (here - Candidate object) on which you want to create a feed-based layout| Setup | Feed Tracking.
Create a new page layout and make sure that the Feed-Based Layout check-box is checked.
In the Main Candidate layout editor page | update the publisher action to include the actions and custom buttons or links as per need.
In the above right hand side (or header), you see Feed View which is to customize the feed page.
Add custom components and decide the location as per need, Add the custom buttons, links and standard button, followers etc. as per need. Decide on the feed filters.
Save | Assign the page layout as per requirement to profiles
