Once User is deactivated:
- This removes them from all delegated groups and sharing privileges.
- User no longer can log into Salesforce. Note: You can deactivate users, but you can’t delete them.
- This prevents access but preserves all historical activity and record.
Note: On unchecking Active field and Saving, the next page prompts you to remove this user from any teams. You can still transfer this user's records to an active user and view the user's name under Manage Users.
Steps:
Setup | Users | Edit next to a user’s name | Deselect the Active checkbox | Save.
Note:
Deactivating user accounts make their user licenses available for use in your organization.
Points to remember before deactivating, please find in the reference.
